While looking for a parking spot at the Science Museum:
Sophia-When was the Science Museum built?
Erik-I don't know. It was built before mommy and daddy got married.
Sophia-Oh-so it's as old as the fort (Fort Snelling)?
Leaving Sophia's swimming lesson, thinking about all the time Andrew has spent waiting for Sophia at dance and swimming lessons:
Me-Andrew, we need to find an activity for you. Do you want to play a sport?
Andrew-No
Me-Do you want to take swimming lessons?
Andrew-No
Me-Well, what would you like to do?
Andrew-Fix a puzzle.
I seem to get the urge to exercise when it's really hot outside. It sounds really good at the time and by the end, I'm wondering what I was thinking. Yesterday was one of those hot days (in the 90s) and I decided to take the kids for a bike ride. While biking is a little easier than running the 2+ miles, pulling 70 pounds behind me proved to be a little more difficult than I originally anticipated. Here's what my children had to say on our journey:
Andrew-This is a long bike ride. I'm tired. (Hmmm...exactly how does sitting in a bike carrier make one tired?)
Sophia-Why do we keep taking so many breaks? (hint: 70 extra pounds + 90 degree heat + hills)
