In 7 1/2 weeks (or less), we will welcome a new baby into our family. Are we ready? The short answer is no. There's a lot to do yet to transition back into baby mode in our household. On the list of things to do:
1. Buy diapers and wipes
2. Buy a new carseat
3. Buy a baby book
4. Wash clothes (I can't wait to dig those little newborn outfits out)
5. Make a list of what I need for the hospital
6. Buy gifts for Sophia and Andrew for when they meet their new brother or sister
7. Send in my pre-registration to the hospital
8. Get Sophia's new room painted and put together (pink is her color of choice)
9. Paint the baby's room (time permitting)
10. Choose names
Ok-time to take a deep breath. Did I mention I go back to work in four weeks? See you soon, little one!

Just Being Nice
Andrew loves to play checkers and he really is good at it. He picked up the game quickly and beats me every time. So tonight we played a game and I was actually on my way to winning for once. He's become very good at thinking out all the possible moves he could make. Tonight he realized that whatever move he made was going to result in me being able jump his piece. So, very politely, he invited me to take a second turn in a row. When I reminded him that it was his turn, he said, "I know mom. I'm just trying to be nice." Little stinker-he's too smart for his own good!
