While cleaning this past weekend, I found some funny quotes Sophia has made. I may have shared a few of these in the past. They include:
Sophia-I want to be pregnant because I want boobs.
Me-No, you get those when you are older, not when you are pregnant.
Sophia-Oh, what a flop!
If you yell at me ever again, I'm not gonna be your little girl...I'm serious
I am so sad my mommy is gone because she is the only one who can take good care of me (said to Erik).
As we were baking and I tested the batter and didn't give her any more:
Sophia-Why (can't I have any and you can)
Me-Because I'm the mommy. When you're a mommy, you can.
Sophia-I'm not going to be a mommy.
Me-Why?
Sophia-I'm going to be a doctor.
Andrew's newest quotes include:
I don't like you.
I'm not going play with you anymore.
Tonight Erik and I both had the honor of being told he wasn't going to play with us anymore. Any guesses as to where he's picking up on phrases like this? Hmmm...
Andrew's new favorite bedtime routine is to hide under the covers after Erik tucks him and wait for me to come in. After I kiss him goodnight, he wraps his arms around my neck, tells me to go and then giggles as I try to get away from his grip. I usually then tickle him and listen to him giggle-a sound I never grow old of hearing.
Sophia has been busy this past week with leprechaun art projects. We have leprechaun artwork in many rooms of our house, proudly displayed by her. She's quite good at drawing leprechauns in their green hats. She's also been industriously working on a leprechaun trap. She's quite a creative, artistic little girl. Now if we could just get her to be a better listener.
Erik had fun with the kids making their own birdhouses. They painted like crazy and were excited to hang them in the backyard tonight. We are keeping our fingers crossed that they will have residents in the near future.
Sophia and Andrew put on a play for us last weekend. Sophia took on the role of director and scene design while Andrew got to be a bear. I am going to attempt to post some footage of it later on. A quick recap-the first scene was of Sophia and her elephant mom (in place of a real one)-Sophia was trying to sign up for a snowball fight and the mom kept making a mess in the house. The next one was of Sophia and Andrew as a bear crawling and going in a refrigerator. Andrew apparently didn't do a good enough job though because Sophia fired him, which led to a very tearful little boy sobbing, "I want to be a bear." I told him to ask Sophia if he could be one again, to which she replied, "no." Of course this in turn led to more tears.

Ready for Spring
What a beautiful weekend we had! Only in Minnesota would beautiful be associated with 40 degrees, but I'll take it. Spring is my favorite season (summer is a close 2nd) and I am excited that it's just around the corner. We made the most of the nice weather and spent time outside both days. Sophia was excited to ride her bike and Andrew enjoyed playing with his remote control car. Today we went to a local nature center and learned about tapping the trees for maple syrup. It was nice to be outside with the sun shining and I think the kids splashed through just about every puddle they found.
